One of the world's greatest challenges is making food production more sustainable. Our company is a major player in the international market and as such we have take on our responsibility. That's why The Greenery has made sustainable cultivation a key focus area of our business operations.

Supporting innovation

Good ideas often arise in a practical context, in places where they can be applied. The Greenery supports growers who innovate in a sustainable manner. They can be assured of our help in testing, developing and implementing their ideas. Since early 2010 we have awarded Growers favourably distinguishing themselves in the area of sustainability with the qualification 'Nature Counts'.

Use of crop and plant protection products

The Greenery aims to restrict the use of chemical plant protection agents as much as possible. We encourage our growers to use natural alternatives, where possible. We provide information, advice and support.

Sharing information

As a trading organization, we occupy a central position in the chain. We use our international network of growers to disseminate information- to sow successful ideas on sustainability so that these can find fertile ground everywhere.
